As pop culture, games are as important as film or television - but game design has yet to develop a theoretical framework or critical vocabulary. Rules of Play presents a unified model for looking at all kinds of games.

Pedagogy of the oppressed | Paulo Friere

Dedicated to the oppressed and based on his own experience helping Brazilian adults to read and write, Freire includes a detailed Marxist class analysis in his exploration of the relationship between the colonizer and the colonized.
